Approx 20 gms Arran yarn

Size 4.5 mm needles 

Cast on 27 stitches

Knit 4 rows in garter stitch (every row knit)

 

Row 1: k2 p1, * k1, p1 repeat from * to last 2 stitches, k2

Row 2: k3 * p1, k1 repeat from * to last 2 stitches, k 2

Row 3: k 2, purl to last 2 stitches, k 2

Row 4: knit 

Repeat the 4  rows for  34 cms

Cast off

 Fold both ends to middle leaving a slight gap.

Design 1

Cast on  18 stitches

Knit 1 row

Row 1: knit 2, knit 1 purl 1 to last 2 stitches, knit 2

Row 2: knit

Repeat these 2 rows for 18 cms 

Knit 1  row. 

Cast off

Sew side seams 

Decorate the front with embellishments 

Design 2 

Follow instructions above but work in garter stitch (every row knit)

Sew left seam, on right side fold corner down and sew remainder of seam

Embellish front

Approx 15 grams  of yellow dk yarn

toy stuffing

4 mm needles

Measures approx 12 cms high

cast on 30 stitches

Knit  in stocking stitch (1 row knit, 1 row purl) for 12 cms

Next row: knit 2 tog across the row

Next row: purl 2 tog across the row to last stitch, purl 1

Cut yarn leaving a length and thread through stitches, gently pull tight, sew seam

Stuff head with toy stuffing

Add a row of running stitches and pull slightly to make neck

Stuff body

Running stitches around bottom, pull tight and secure

Make a few tuffs and attach to head

Add eyes and beak

 Please note if making for a child sew eyes and beak
