Marshmallow Baby Hat



Marshmallow Baby Hat
To fit  approx. 3 months

Two colours

Materials
For the rib use double knit yarn and the top half use fancy yarns of double knit thickness 
Note: you could use double knit in two colours


using  3.25 mm needles and double knit cast on 69 stitches

1st row: k2, p2 to last stitch k1
2 nd row: s1, k2, p2 to end

This forms the rib

Continue in rib for another six rows


Change to 4mm needles and second yarn

Next row work in stocking stitch pattern (1 row plain, 1 row purl)
until work measures 11cms


Shape crown

1st row: k3  *k2 tog, k4 to end
2nd and all alt rows : purl
3rd row: k2 * k2 tog k3 to last stitch, k1
5th row: k1, *k2tog, k2 to last 2 stitches k2tog
7th row: k2 tog, k1 to end of row
9th row: k2 tog across row, k last stitch.


Break off enough yarn to thread through purl wise the 12 stitches left on needle and secure.
Join seam.

Snowflake Baby Hat

Snowflake Hat
To fit 3-6 months

Materials:  for rib, double knitting wool
For top half : King Cole Sprinkles or similar

1 pair of 3.75 and 4 mm needles

With 3.75 mm needles
Cast on 72 stitches

Row 1. Knit 2, purl 2 to end
Row 2.  Knit 2, purl 2 to end.

Repeat last two rows  5 times more times

Change to 4 mm needles and other yarn.

Next row: Knit across the row increase 12 stitches evenly (84 stitches)
Next row : Purl across all stitches
Next row: knit across all stitches
Next row: purl across all stitches

Repeat last two rows till work measures 9 cm


Shape crown

1st row k 8, k 2 tog, repeat to end

2nd and alt row: purl

3rd row k 7, k 2 tog repeat to end
Continue decreasing by working one st less every alternative until 13 stitches remain finishing on a purl row

Cut yarn leaving a tail and thread through the stitches and secure
Sew seam


Make a bobble and attach

Row 1  knit across all stitches (garter stitch)

Continue in garter stitch until work measures approx. 58 cms

cast off


to make up

turn one  edge so that there is is a twist at the front and sew up back seam

Glitzy Chic Bag


Double knit yarn

Needles size 4 mm

Cast on 30 stitches in a fluffy wool

First row knit one, purl one rib to end
Second row purl on, knit one to end
Knit 4 more rows in rib

Row 6  knit across all stitches
Row 7  purl across all stitches

Continue in stocking stitch until work measures 14 cm from rib

Knit 3 rows garter stitch for gusset

Next row knit across all stitches
Next row purl across all stitches

Continue in stocking stitch till work measure 14 cm from the garter stitch gusset

Change to fluffy wool and work 5 rows in rib as before

Cast off


Handle
Cast on 5 stitches

Knit every row (garter stitch) until required length

Cast off and attach handle to bag


Add a fluffy flower if required

Repeat the last two rows until work measures 14 cm ending on a knit row
From the frill ending on a knit row

Knit the next three rows

Cast off

Sew up side seam leaving a gap for thumb

Next row knit two stitches, yfw knit two together, knit one

Knit four more rows

Cast off


Handle
cast on 5 stiches

knit all rows until length required

cast off

join side seams
attach flaps with a button both sides
sew handle to the side of the bag

Fingerless gloves

Easy to make Fingerless Gloves

Using Double  knit wool and size 4 mm needles

Cast on 36 stitches

Row 1. Knit one purl one to end
Row 2. knit one purl one to end

Repeat these two rows three more times

Row 9 knit to end
Row 10 purl to end


Repeat last two rows until it measures 17 cm


Next 4 rows
Repeat row 1 and 2 twice

Cast off

Sew up side seam leaving a gap
Cast off

Sew up side seam leaving a gap for the thumb.



Flower decoration

4mm needles 
Using a contrast wool cast on 36 stitches

Knit one row

Next row slip 1,   knit 2 tog psso: to last stitch, k1

Cut yarn and thread through stitches pulling tight to make a flower.

Secure with a couple of stitches and attach to glove.

Hanging ghost ornament


Needles 3.75 mm

Oddments of white and black double knitting wool

Cast on 20 stitches

Garter stitch every row until work measures approx 11.5 cms

Cast off loosely

To make up
Find the central point of the square
Fill with small ball of cotton wool
Tie wool or ribbon around to make a neck

Leave enough spare to tie in a knot and make a loop to hang with

With black wool embroider eyes
