Toy Stuffing 

2 buttons for eyes

1 heart shape button for beak

4 mm needles

Cast on 18 stitches

Knit 2 rows

Next 2 rows: knit 1, knit into front and back next stitch knit to end

Knit 2 rows in garter stitch

Repeat these 4 rows

2 more times (24 stitches)

Knit 24 rows

Knit 2 rows in garter stitch

Next 2  rows: knit 1, k2 tog, knit to end 

Repeat these 4 rows  2 more times 18 stitches)

Knit 2 rows

Cast off

Fold in half and sew side seams

Sew on buttons

Stuff owl

Sew bottom seam

Oddments of white and black double knitting wool

Cast on 20 stitches

Garter stitch every row until work measures approx 11.5 cms

Cast off loosely

To make up
Find the central point of the square
Fill with small ball of cotton wool
Tie wool or ribbon around to make a neck

Leave enough spare to tie in a knot and make a loop to hang with

With black wool embroider eyes
