Oddments of double knit yarn and eyelash yarn

4 mm knitting needles

Design 1

Cast on 28 stitches

Row 1: k2,  p2 to end of row 

Knit row 1.   12 times

Change to eyelash yarn 

Knit 3 rows 

Cast off

Sew seam

Thread 2 strands of dk yarn and sew running stitches around hat below the knit rows, tie knot in each end and tie in bow

Design 2 

Cast on 28 stitches with eyelash yarn

Row 1: k2,  p2 to end of row

Knit this row 2 times

Change to dk yarn

Knit row 1    10 times 

Knit 3 rows

Cast off

Sew  seam

Thread 2 strands of dk yarn and sew running stitches around hat below the knit rows, tie knot in each end and tie in bow

Small amounts of Glitter yarn

Oddments Dk yarn 

4 mm needles

Cast on 24 stitches in red or white

Knit 5 rows in k1, p1 rib 

Change to dk 

Knit in stocking stitch ( 1 row knit, 1 row purl ) 

Repeat 10 times.

Knit 4 rows 

Next Row:  K2tog  * to end

Next row: knit 

Next Row: K2tog to end

Cut yarn, leave enough yarn to thread through remaining stitches, pull gently to close and to stitch seam

Small amount Dk yarn and festive eyelash yarn

Embellishment

4 mm needles

Cast on 24 stitches with festive yarn

Knit 6 rows in knit 1, purl 1 rib

Change to Dk yarn

Next knit 4 rows in garter stitch (every row knit)

Knit 1 row knit

Knit 1 row purl

Repeat these 6 rows  3 times

Cast off

 sew seam, fold flat with seam at back, sew bottom seam

Add motive
