Change to dk yarn

Row 1: Knit to end

Next row : knit 2 tog across row 

Knit 3 rows

Next row : k6,  cast on 4 stitches,  k4, k2 tog 3 times, knit 4 cast on 4 stitches, k 6

Knit 1 row

Cast off

Sew back seam

3.75 needles

Cast on 20 stitches

Knit 4 rows

Next row: knit 1 * yfd, knit 2 tog, repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

1st row: knit 
2nd row: purl
3rd row: k1, *yfwd, k2 tog repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1
4th row:  purl 
5th row: knit 2 * yfwd. k2 tog, repeat from * to end 
6th row: purl 

Continue with the 6 row pattern 8 more times

Next row: knit 1 * yfd, knit 2 tog, repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Knit 4 rows

Cast off, sew sides, thread ribbon through eyelet  holes

Ribbon 

Patten with choice of with or without ribbon.

Cast on 52 stitches with pink

Knit 4 rows

Change to lemon  yarn

Row 1 : knit

Row 2: purl 

Row 3: * P1, y f d, s1 purlways,  knit into back of next stitch, repeat from  *  to last stitch  p1, 

Row 4: purl

Knit  4 row pattern  1 more time

Next row : knit 2 tog across row

Next row: knit 1 * yfd, knit 2 tog, repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

( if omitting ribbon knit 1 row instead)

Knit 2 rows

Next row : k6,  cast on 4 stitches,  k3, k2 tog 4 times, knit 3 cast on 4 stitches, k 6

Knit 2 row

Cast off

Sew back seam on right side for easy access leaving a gap at top.

Bonnet or hat

cast on 22 stitches

knit in garter stitch until work measures 4cm

k2 tog across the rows

leave a enough yarn thread through stitches, pull tight and secure a couple of stitches on seam for bonnet.

For hat sew all the back seam
Add ribbon ties

Knit 6 rows

Change to 4 mm needles
*  Row 1 knit to end

4 mm needles 
white ribbon

With contrast cast on 45 stitches

Change to main colour

   Row 2: purl to end

Continue with 6 row pattern 3 more times

Knit rows 1 - 2

Next row : K1, * s1, k1, p s s o, repeat from * to last stitch, k 1 (23) stitches
Next row: knit
Next row: k1, * yfd k2 tog to end
Knit 5 rows
Knit 6, cast on 6, knit 11, cast on 6, knit 6

Cast off

Leave back open for easy access
