Oddments of red and white dk yarn

Bobble

4 mm needles

Hat

With white, cast on 24 stitches

Knit 2 rows

With red, stocking stitch 14 rows

Next row: knit 2 tog across row

Next row: purl 2 tog to end 

Cut yarn leaving a small length to thread through stitches, pull gently, secure and sew seam

Add bobble

Add magnet to back

Jumper

Knit 2 pieces

With white Cast on 14 stitches

Knit 2 rows

With red

Next knit 1 row, purl 1 row for 4 cm

Next row cast on 8 stitches knit to end

Next row cast on 8 stitches, knit 4 purl to last 4 stitches, knit 4

Next row knit

Next row knit 4 purl to last 4 stitches knit to end

Repeat last  2 rows 1 more  time

Knit 2 rows

Cast off

Sew side seams and under arm

Sew shoulder seams

Add magnet to back

Cast 20 stitches

Knit 4 rows

Row 1: knit

Row 2: knit 2,  purl to last 2 stitches, knit 2

Repeat these rows for 14 cm

Next row: knit 2, s1, knit 1, p.s.s.o. Knit to end

Repeat last row until 10 stitches remain

Button hole row : knit 4, yfd knit 2 together, knit to end 

Continue decrease rows until 3 stitches remain

Knit 2 together

Knit 2 together

Fasten off

Sew sides, add button

Cast on 20 stitches 

knit 6 rows

Next row: knit 2, s1, knit 1, p.s.s.o. Knit to end

Repeat last row until 5 stitches remain

Knit 8  rows

Next and every row:  knit 2, knit into front and back of next stitch, knit to end

Repeat until 20 stitches on needle

Knit 8 rows

Next row: knit 2, s1, knit 1, p.s.s.o. Knit to end

Repeat last row until 10 stitches remain

Button hole row : knit 4, yfd knit 2 together, knit toned 

Continue decrease rows until 5 stitches remain

Cast off

Thread ring add button 

Fold top over and add button

Scraps lengths of dk yarn

4 mm needles

Change colours randomly at start of row even if there is only enough yarn for a couple of rows 

Cast on 34 stitches

Knit 6 rows 

Row 1: knit

Row 2: knit 5, purl to last 5 stitches, knit 5

Knit these 2 rows until work measures 17 cm from cast on 

Knit 2 rows 

Button hole row: k4, yfd k2 tog, knit to end

Knit 3 rows

Cast off leaving last  last 5 stitches on needle

Strap

Knit every row on these stitches for 20 cm

Cast off

Add button

Alternate pattern

Follow instructions above replacing with garter stitch throughout (every row knit)
