Leftovers Skirt Set for Barbie

 

Oddments of dk yarn

4 mm needles

Change colours randomly at start of row even if there is only enough yarn for a couple of rows.

Skirt

Cast on 26 stitches 

Row 1:  *k1, p1, rep from * to end

Row 2: Knit to end

Knit  2 row pattern until skirt measures 8 cms   (Knit 2 tog 2 each end of last row)

Knit 4 rows in k1, p1 rib

Cast off

Sew back seam on right side

Top

Cast  on 14 stitches

Row 1: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end

Row 2: Knit to end

Repeat last 2 rows 3  times

Next row: knit 7 stitches

Turn knit across these 7 stitches

Work in garter stitch (every row knit) on these stitches for 19 rows

Break yarn and attach to remaining stitches and work to match first side

Next row: knit across all stitches

Row 1: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end

Row 2: Knit to end

Repeat last 2 rows 3  times

Cast off 

Sew seams up to start of neck division using a flat stitch

Oddments of dk yarn, scraps of eyelash or tinsel yarn

4 mm needles

Cast on 28 stitches

Row 1: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end

Row 2: Knit to end

Repeat the 2 rows 7  times 

 Next rows knit 2 tog across row

Next row: purl 2 tog across row

Cut yarn leaving enough to thread through remaining stitches and join seam 

Flower

Cast on 10 stitches with eyelash yarn

Knit 2 tog. Across row

Cut yarn leaving short length

Thread through remaining stitches, pull tight, secure to hat.

A bonnet for Easter 

Size 3-6 months

approx. 20 grams of lemon dk yarn small amount pink yarn

4mm  needles

3.75 needles

Ribbon

Cast on 72 stitches with 3.75 needles and lemon yarn 

Row 1: *knit 2, purl 2, knit from * to end 

Row 2: * purl 2, knit  2 repeat  from * to end

Repeat last 2 rows twice

Change to .4 mm needles 

*  Row 1 knit to end

   Row 2:  knit 2* purl to last 2 stitches, knit 2

   Row 3:  knit  to end

   Row 4:  knit 2* purl to last 2 stitches, knit 2

   Knit  6 rows*

Repeat the last 10 rows twice more and rows 1-4 once

Change to pink yarn

Shape crown

Next row: *Knit 6, k2 together to end  (63 stitches)

Knit every alternative row:

Next row: *Knit 5, k2 together to end (54 stitches)

Next row: *Knit 4,  k2 together to end 45 stitches)

Next row: *Knit 3, k2 together to end (36 stitches)

Next row: *Knit 2, k2 together to end (27 stitches)

Next row: *Knit 1,  k2 together to end (18 stitches)

Knit 2 tog across row 

Cut othe yarn long enough to thread through remaining stitches pull tight and secure. Sew seam to the start of crown shaping for 8 cms.

Attach ribbon

  Birth - 3 months

 

Width:          5cm,    10cm circumference 

Length:         10cm

Make two mittens the same 

Approx 5 g of  Dk oddments

Change colours randomly at start of row even if there is only enough yarn for a couple of rows.

4 mm needles

3.75 needles

With 3.75 cast on 24 stitches 

Row 1: Knit 1, purl 1 to end

Repeat 7 times

Change to 4 mm needles

Row 1: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end

Row 2: Knit to end

These 2 rows form the pattern

Repeat for the last two rows 8 times

Next Row:  K1, *K2tog, k1, repeat from * to end (16 stitches)

Next row: knit 

Next Row: k1, *K2tog to last stitch, knit 1. (9 stitches)

Cut yarn, leave enough yarn to thread through remaining stitches, pull gently to close and to stitch seam

4 mm needles

Change colours randomly at start of row even if there is only enough yarn for a couple of rows

cast  on 64 stitches

Row 1: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end

Row 2: Knit to end

These 2 rows form the pattern

Repeat 15 times

Shape Crown

Row 1: *k6, k2tog* repeat to end (56 st.)

Row 2 and alt rows - knit

Row 3: *k5, k2tog* repeat to end (48 st.)

Row 5: *k4, k2tog* repeat to end (40 st.)

Row 7: *k3, k2tog* repeat to end (32 st.)

Row 9:  *k2, k2tog* repeat to end (24 st.)

Row 11: *k1, k2tog* repeat to end (26 st.)

Row 13: *k2tog* repeat to end (8 st.)

cut yarn long enough to thread through the remaining stitches and sew up side seam.

Width:    14cm.  (15.25cm)   28cm. (30.5cm) circumference 

Height:   14cm.  (15.25cm) 

cast on 56 (66) stitches 

 

1st row: Knit to end

2nd row: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end

These 2 rows form the pattern

Repeat for the last two rows for  14 cm (15.25 cm.)

Next row (right side)  k1,* yfwd k2 tog* repeat to last stitch, knit 1

Knit 8 rows in garter stitch ( every row knit)

Cast off

Sew back seam

thread ribbon or cord through eyelet holes,  pull and tie in bow

Next row : k6,  cast on 4 stitches,  * k3,  k2 tog, k2, k2 tog, k3,  k2 tog , cast on 4 stitches, k 6

Knit 2 rows

Cast off

Sew back seam
