Using Double  knit wool and 

size 3.75 and 4 mm needles

Cast on 37 stitches with 3.75 needles
Knit 6 rows in k1, p1 rib

Change to 4mm needles

Row 1: p1 * s1 purl ways, p1, repeat from * to end

Row 2: purl

Row 3: p2 * s1 purl ways, p1, repeat from * to last stitch, p1

Row 4: purl

Row 5: knit

Row 6: knit

Repeat last 6 rows 7 times

Change to 3.75 needles

Knit 4 rows in k1, p1 rib

Cast off

Sew up side seam leaving a gap for the thumb

Cast on 52 stitches 

Knit 4 rows

Row 1: knit into back of stitch to end of row 

Row 2: purl

Repeat these two rows 4 times more

Next row : knit 2 tog across row

Knit 3 rows

Next row : k6,  cast on 4 stitches,  k3, k2 tog 4 times, knit 3 cast on 4 stitches, k 6

Knit 2 rows

Cast off

Sew back seam on right side for easy access leaving a gap at top.

Add bow

Pre gathered lace

4mm Needles 

Cast on 21 stitches

Knit 4 rows in garter stitch

Next row: Next row: knit 1 * yfd, knit 2 tog, repeat from * to end

Knit 1 row

Row 1: p1 * s1 purl ways, p1, repeat from * to end

Row 2: purl

Row 3: p2 * s1 purl ways, p1, repeat from * to last stitch, p1

Row 4: purl

Repeat last 4 rows 7  times

Next and following  rows knit (this forms the back of the bag)

Continue until when folded the back reaches the eyelet holes.

Next row: Next row: knit 1 * yfd, knit 2 tog, repeat from * to end 

Knit 4 rows

Cast off

Attach lace to front of bag folding in at sides and from wrong side sew side seams

Thread ribbon through eyelet holes
