Mermaid Spoon Puppet

 Oddments of double knit yarn and small amount of tinsel yarn

Size 8 needles

Wooden spoon  approx 15 cm high 

Bodice

Cast on 9 stitches in dk yarn

Knit 5 rows in garter stitch ( every row knit)

Cast off

Wrap a small amount of yarn around the centre and secure

Wrap around the spoon and stitch on to make a bodice

Tail

Cast on 10 stitches 

Knit 2 rows in k1, p1 rib

Next row.: increase a stitch at both ends of row knit to end

Next row: knit

Continue in knit rows until measurements 8.5 cms are or to the end of the spoon 

Next row : knit 2 tog across the row

Cut yarn thread through remaining stitches, join seam

Fin

Cast on 14 stitches

Next row knit

Following rows: decrease at both end of row until 4 stitches remain

Cast off 

Attach to tail

Make hair attach to spoon
