Burial Gown For Angel Baby




Dress measures length 12cm and can be made smaller by gathering ribbon at back.
Left open at the back for easier dressing

10 grams Dk yarn, small amount of contrast
4 mm needles 
white ribbon

With contrast cast on 45 stitches
Knit 3 rows
Change to main colour

*  Row 1 knit to end
   Row 2: purl to end
   Knit  4 rows* 
Continue with 6 row pattern 3 more times
Knit rows 1 - 2

Next row : K1, * s1, k1, p s s o, repeat from * to last stitch, k 1 (23) stitches

Next row: knit
Next row: k1, * yfd k2 tog to end
Knit 5 rows
Knit 6, cast on 6, knit 11, cast on 6, knit 6
Knit 3 rows
Next row: knit 15 knit 2 tog 3 times, knit 14
Cast off

Leave back open for easy access 
Thread ribbon through eyelet row to tie at back
A rose bud or small decoration can be added to the front

  1. Thank you for posting this pattern. Unfortunately my daughter gave birth to an angel baby. Just two weeks before she was due. She looked so perfect, she was a good weight. There are no answer why this dreadful tragic heartbreaking hurt came our way.
    I was so humbled by the kindness of strangers who for no reason but the goodness of their hearts knit an donate so many beautiful items to give solaice and comfort to people who have to somehow cope with the nightmare they are living through.
    I decided I wanted to make some little things that can be passed on to others in our situation. So I was looking for something useful. This little gown would be great.
