Simple Boat Coast

 

Oddments of 3 colours of  dk yarn

Size 4 mm Needles

Begin at the bottom cast on 20  stitches

Next and every row:  knit 2, knit into front and back of next stitch, knit to end

Repeat until 30 stitches on needle

Change to second colour 

Next row: knit 2, knit 1, slip 1, p s s o, Knit to end

Next row: knit 2, purl 2 tog, purl to last 2stitches, knit 2

Repeat last 2 rows until 3 stitches remain

Next row: knit 2 tog, k 1

Next row: knit 2 tog

Fasten off

Weave in ends

Flag

Cast on 7 stitches

Knit 1 row

Next rows: knit 2 tog at start each row until 2 stitches remain

Knit 2 tog

Fasten off and attach to boat

4 mm needles

Plastic eyes

Begin at the bottom cast on 4  stitches

Knit 1 row

Next and every row:  knit 2, knit into front and back of next stitch, knit to end

Repeat until 36 stitches on needle

Next row: knit 2, s1, knit 1, p.s.s.o. Knit to end

Repeat last row until 4 stitches remain

Next row: knit 2 tog, twice

Next row: knit 2 tog

Fasten off

Stitch eyes or add plastic ones

Weave in loose ends

Knit until work measures 12cm

 Cast off

Team Colours Coin Holder

Oddments of pink, and team colours Dk yarn 

Black thread for eyes, or plastic eyes 

empty canister measurements 10 cm circumference x height to rim 4..25 cm  

4 mm needles

With team colour 1 cast on 24 stitches

Knit 4 rows in knit 1 purl 1 rib

Knit 2 rows

Change to pink and knit 6rows in stocking stitch (one row knit, 1 row purl)

Change to team colour 1 yarn

Knit 1 row

Knit 1 row in k1, p1 rib

Change to team colour 2

Knit 2 rows in stocking stitch (1row knit, 1row purl)

continue in stocking stitch changing team colours until 8 cm from start

Cast off

Sew seam 

Add eyes 

Attach to canister (attach with a small amount of glue at bottom)

With 2 strands yarn sew gathering stitches around top just below cast off row

Pull tight and tie

Stick on eye

Cast on 40 stitches 

 knit 2 rows

Next row: knit 2 together across the row

Next row: knit

Repeat row until 7 cm from cast on edge

Next row : knit 2 tog to end of row

Next row : knit 2 tog to end of row

Next row : knit 2 tog twice, knit 1

Cut yarn leaving a length to thread  through remaining stitches and join seam

Add eyes or stitch them

4 mm needles

Cast on 36 stitches 

 Knit 1 row

Next row: knit 2 together across row

Row 1: knit

Row 2: purl

Repeat these two rows 3 more times

Next row : knit 2 tog to end of row

Next row : purl  2 tog to last stitch, purl 1

Cut yarn leaving a length to thread  through remaining stitches and join seam

Add eyes and safety pin
