Gnome Chocolate Bar Cover

Fits 7 cm Freddo chocolate bar

Oddments of contrast and green, pink, red and white dk yarn 

Small amount of eyelash or similar yarn

4 mm needles

With green  yarn cast on 20 stitches

Knit 5 rows

With white eyelash yarn Knit 10 rows

 knit 6 rows in pink, 1 row knit, 1 row purl

Knit 2 rows in red

Knit change to green, knit 8 rows in stocking stitch (1 knit row, 1 purl row)

Next 2 rows knit 2 tog across row

Purl 2 tog across row

Knit 2 tog twice, knit 1

Cut yarn and thread through remaining stitches 

sew the hat seam

Sew eyes and nose

Stitch remainder of back seam

Weave in any loose ends

Leave bottom open to slip the chocolate bar in.

Begin at the bottom with the beard cast on 4 stitches

Knit 1 row

Next and every row:  knit 2, knit into front and back of next stitch, knit to end

Repeat until 22 stitches on needle

Knit 4 rows 

Next row :  change to pink, knit to end

Next row: knit 3, purl to last 3 stitches, knit 3

Repeat these 2 rows  3 more times

Change to red

Knit 4 rows

change to green

Knit 2 rows

Next row: knit 2, s1, knit 1, p.s.s.o. Knit to end

Repeat last row until 4 stitches remain

Next row: knit 2 tog, twice

Next row: knit 2 tog

Fasten off

Stitch eyes and nose

Weave in loose ends

Christmas Coaster

Small amount of tinsel yarn

Oddments of 2 strands of dk yarn either mixed colours or same

6 mm needles

Knitted in garter stitch throughout (Every row knit)

With tinsel yarn cast on 18 stitches

Knit 3 rows

Change to dk yarn ( 2 strands held together)

Continue in garter stitch for 9 cms

Change to tinsel  yarn

Knit 3 rows

Cast off

Oddments of white, and a colour Dk yarn 

Black thread for eyes, Orange thread for nose

empty canister measurements 10 cm circumference x height to rim 4..25 cm  

4 mm needles

With colour cast on 24 stitches

Knit 4 rows 

Change to white and knit 8 rows in stocking stitch (one row knit, 1 row purl)

Change to colour yarn

Knit 2 rows in k1, p1 rib

continue in stocking stitch until 9 cm from start

Cast off

Sew seam 

Add eyes and nose 

Attach to canister (attach with a small amount of glue at bottom)

With 2 strands yarn sew gathering stitches around top just below cast off row

Pull tight and tie  a bow

With 2 strands red yarn sew gathering stitches around top just below cast off row

Pull tight and tie  a bow
