Cast on 14 stitches

Knit for 14 cms

Cast off 

Handle

Cast on 5 stitches

Knit for 13 cms 

Cast off

Sew 2 sides, add stuffing and sew up remaining side

Attach handle

Add embellishments

Oddments of 4 colours of d.k. yarn

Ribbon bow

Small amount of toy stuffing 

Size 6 mm Needles

Knitted in garter stitch throughout

(Knit 2 pieces)

Use 2 colours for the pot, cast on 5 stitches.

Knit 1 row

Next and every alternative row increase  a stitch at each end of row until 11 stitches on needle

Change to tree colours and cast on 5 stitches at the start of the next 2 rows

Next row: knit 2, s1, knit1, p.s.s.o. Knit to end

Repeat last row until 3 stitches remain

Next row: knit 2 tog, k 1

Next row: knit 2 tog

Fasten off remaining stitches 

To make up

Join trees together leaving a gap to add stuffing.  Join remaining seam

empty canister measurements 10 cm circumference x height to rim 4..25 cm  

4 mm needles

Cast on 20 stitches

Knit 8 rows in ground colour

Change to blue for sky

Row 1: * knit

Row 2: purl

Repeat these 2 rows until work is 5 cm

Knit 1 row

Cast off 

Sew seam and attach to canister 

Decorate with flowers etc
