Size new born

Length approx 22 cm

Size 4 mm needles

50 Grams Dk yarn

2 buttons

Back 

Cast on 40 stitches 

Row 1:  * k5, p5, repeat from * to end

Repeat row for 16 cms

Cast on 8 stitches at start next row

Knit to end

Cast on 8 stitches at start next row

Knit 3 purl to last 3 stitches, knit 3

Next row: knit

Knit 3 purl to last 3 stitches, knit 3

Repeat last 2 rows 7 times

Cast off

Front

Cast on 40 stitches 

Work as back until cast on for sleeves

Cast on 8 stitches at start of row, knit to end

Next row cast on 8 stitches, knit 3, purl to last 3 stitches 

Next row: knit 28 stitches, turn on work  on these stitches 

Next row knit 2 purl to last 3 stitches, knit 3

Next row: knit to end

Next row knit 2 purl to last 3 stitches, knit 3

Repeat last 2 rows 7 times

Cast off

Rejoin yarn at next edge of right

 side and complete as left side

Sew shoulder seam fit 10 cms from sleeve edge

Sew side and underarm seam

Button bar

Cast on 12 

1st row: Knit 2, purl 2 to end

2nd row: purl 2, knit 2 to end 

Next row knit to last 4 stitches, yfd, knit 2 tog, knit 2

Repeat rows 1 and 2 rows

Cast off

Sew on button to right side, attach and secure opposite side with button

Add button bar
