Approx 30 g double knit yarn
3.25mm and 4mm knitting needles
With 3.25mm needles cast on 60 stitches
Work in k1, p1 rib for 6 rows
Change to 4mm needles and work in stocking stitch (1 row knit,1 row purl), on every purl row, knit the first and last 3 stitches
Continue the last two rows until work measures 13cm
Cast off
sew up long side seam
add ribbons to tie and flower decoration if required

What side seam? The instructions to sew a side seam are confusing me, I've made the bonnet and cast off, but looking at the piece and the pictures on this page, it would appear I need to sew the back seam, so not understanding how to sew a side seam and have it turn out correctly, what am I missing here?
