Approx 30 g  double knit yarn
3.25mm and 4mm knitting needles

With 3.25mm needles cast on 60 stitches

Work in k1, p1 rib for 6 rows

Change to 4mm needles and work in stocking stitch (1 row knit,1 row purl), on every  purl row, knit the first and last 3 stitches

Continue the last two rows until work measures 13cm

Cast off

sew up long side seam

add ribbons to tie and flower decoration if required

Needles: 3.25  and 4mm

Using 3.25 needles cast  on 63 stitches

Row 1: k4, p1 *k1, p1 repeat from * to last 4 stitches, k 4
Row 2: k5, *  p1 k1 repeat from * to last 5 stitches, k5


Repeat these two rows three more times

Change to 4mm needles

Work in stocking stitch one row knit, one row purl working 4  knit stitches each end of every purl row
Continue until work measures  11cm

Shape Crown

Row 1: *k6, k2tog* repeat to last 7 stitches k7

Row 2 and all alt rows - purl 

Row 3: *k5, k2tog* repeat to end

Row 5: *k4, k2tog* repeat to end 

Row 7: *k3, k2tog* repeat to end 

Row 9:  *k2, k2tog* repeat to last 3 stitches, K3

Row 11: *k1, k2tog* repeat to end 

Row 13: *k2tog* repeat to end 

cut yarn long enough to thread through the remaining stitches and sew up side seam. from the top down to the end of the knitted edge

add ribbon to tie

Cast on 30 stitches
Knit 3 rows

Work in stocking stitch until work measures 7cm
Next row: decrease  4 stitches evenly across row

Work 4 rows in k1, p1 rib

Cast off in rib

Sew up back seam


Top
Make 2 pieces

Cast on 16 stitches
Work 3 rows in k1, p1 rib
Continue in stocking stitch until it measures 7cm ending on a knit row
Knit 3 further rows
Cast off


Sew up sides leave gap for arm holes.
Catch shoulder each  side with a few stitches
