K2 tog across row (22 stitches)
Garter stitch 3 more rows

Next row k 6, turn
Starting with purl stocking stitch 4 rows
Cast off

Rejoin to remaining needles k 10 stitches, turn
Stocking stitch 4 rows
Cast off

Rejoin to last 6 stitches
Stocking stitch 4 rows


Cast off
Sew shoulder seams


Headband
Cast on 21 stitches
Knit 3 rows

Cast off and sew seam
