Size: Newborn

Materials: double knit yarn  main and contrast colour
Needles: 4mm

Cast on 64 stitches
Row 1: k1, p1. to end
Row 2: k1, p1 to end

Repeat these two rows another 5 more time changing to contrast every 2 rows

Change to  4 mm needles and main colour


Next row : work in stocking stitch one row knit, one row purl

Continue in stocking stitch until work measures  14c ending with a purl row

Shape Crown

Row 1: *k6, k2tog* repeat to end (56 st.)

Row 2 and all alt rows - purl 

Row 3: *k5, k2tog* repeat to end (48 st.)

Row 5: *k4, k2tog* repeat to end (40 st.)

Row 7: *k3, k2tog* repeat to end (32 st.)

Row 9:  *k2, k2tog* repeat to end (24 st.)

Row 11: *k1, k2tog* repeat to end (16st.)

Row 13: *k2tog* repeat to end (8 st.)

cut yarn long enough to thread through the remaining stitches and secure.
Sew side seam.
Turn rib up
